M-89 and M-96 are roads that are “State Trunkline Roads” in the jurisdiction of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and are not the responsibility of Road Commission of Kalamazoo County. Drivers with damage to their vehicles due to potholes on these type of roadways should utilize Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) “Report a Pothole” form: https://www.michigan.gov/mdot/travel/commuters/potholes#onlineform If you cannot use the internet, you are also able to call 1-888-296-4546 to leave a voice mail with very specific details on the location of the pothole. If you have had to repair your vehicle due to poor MDOT road conditions, you are also able to make a claim to recover your costs. Note that this will trigger an investigation first and is not a guaranteed form of reimbursement: https://www.michigan.gov/mdot/travel/commuters/potholes/damage-claim
