2023 Rental Home/Property Update

The Ross Township Zoning Administrator has reported an increase in rentals of less than 30 days so far in 2023. The renting of any dwelling unit in Ross Township for a continuous period of less than 30 days is not allowed. Please note the following excerpts from the Ross Township Zoning Ordinance:

“Section 2.2—Definition of Terms

Dwelling Unit:

A building or a portion thereof having living, cooking and sanitary facilities for not more than one (1) family of permanent residents.

Permanent Resident:

Any person who has resided in the same dwelling for a continuous period of thirty (30) or more days is construed as a permanent resident for the purpose of this Ordinance.”

The Ross Township’s Zoning Administrator is monitoring the popular websites that advertise such rental activities and has reported an increase of such activity in Ross Township. I am writing to inform Ross Township Residents and property owners of this, and to hopefully avoid violations and enforcement of such rental activity.
